Chronicle of the decay of the old church:

1833 The slabs of the floor of the church are repaired.

1842 The church is plastered new inside.

1843 Johann Geulich gets a ten years contract to keep the roof in good condition.

1851 The cross of the church is broken down.

1861 The drainage of the church costs 196fl.

1879/80 The old roman tower is pulled down and the new roman tower is built. It costs 13017 Mark.

1904 Inauguration of the new pastoral church. Since this time no service was celebrated in the old Nikolai church.

1954 April 13th The old church catches fire.

1966 The old church is pulled down and a living house is built

Restoring the church would have costed roughly 150.000 DM according the opinion of experts. Nobody could pay this.

The buyer is obliged to keep the tower of the old church inclusive the building above the gothic passage.

Today the affectionately restored and designed entrance hall of the old church invites you to make yourself at home.
